Where would you put a Disneyland in Sacramento?
| || |
A few years back Sactown Magazine reported that Cal expo was hitting some major financial trouble, and they were considering selling the property to Disney to build a downtown Disney experience. However, a theme park would really bring in the tax dollars, and ensure Downtown Disney's future success. But where would they build the theme park?
The Vision - Site development and location
Cal Expo would become the Downtown Disney - The Mono Rail would be extended to, and across the river underneath the cap city freeway providing a shuttle service from Cal expo's Parking lot to the Disney park.
There would also be a pedestrian walk with history of Sacramento, John Sutter, the American river and it's importance during the Gold rush. This would also spawn additional freeway work on the American river curve which has been needed for a long time anyways. Additional forms of transportation could also extend from the backside of the Disney gates straight to the rail yard area and train station. Passengers from the San Francisco bay area could technically take the train straight to Nor-cal Disneyland. There is so much under used land in this area that the possibilities are endless.
